Training

What it Takes

What it takes to succeed

The tools of our trade are more than pipe wrenches and plungers. Succeeding in a union apprenticeship also takes adaptability, willingness to learn and a commitment to delivering quality. The work can be physically demanding, and you’ll get your hands dirty. But every day, you’ll continue to develop the foundation for a successful career while building the community around you.

The Illinois Pipe Trades Association is proud to support and champion the vital training programs provided by our local unions.

What it takes

Do you have a good work ethic?

Our communities rely on the skills of plumbers, pipefitters, HVACR technicians and other service workers to deliver reliable, high-quality workmanship in everything from emergency situations to building efficient systems. Having a strong work ethic is essential in an industry that demands precision, reliability and dedication.
