Requirements

Local unions throughout Illinois boast some of the best training centers in the country. By learning in realistic situations and training on our industry’s most advanced technology, our members become the best trained, most qualified workforce, capable of taking on any project.

To be eligible for our program, you must meet the following requirements:

• Be at least 17 years old to apply, and 18 years or older to begin the apprenticeship
• Must have a valid driver’s license or photo ID
• Complete a math exam
• Provide high school diploma or GED
• Some locals require a copy of your birth certificate
• Some locals ask for a copy of your DD-214 if you are a military veteran
